I have always been an active person. In middle school and high school, I played almost every sport offered...basketball, volleyball, soccer, cross country, lacrosse, and track. As I transitioned to college, my focus became running and I trained for marathons and half marathons almost year-round. I ran dozens of half marathons and two marathons with a PR of 3 hours 46 minutes. My goal was to qualify for the Boston Marathon, however, during training, I started to develop knee pain and the pain intensified more with every mile. I knew I couldn’t keep running, at least not at that volume or intensity and this was when I discovered CrossFit in 2012. I fell in love with the sport and have been hooked ever since!
I have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in engineering, but my passion has always been in the health and fitness field. I have a passion to help others reach their goals and increase their quality of life. I desire to increase my knowledge and understanding of programming, nutrition, and coaching to be the best mentor and role model I can be for every athlete who walks through the door.
Besides fitness, I love to hike, camp, and backpack. My husband, Trent, and I love being in the mountains! It’s the best way I have found to reset my mind and soul, connect with friends and family, and commune with God. And it allows us to continue to find ways to challenge ourselves both physically and mentally.

My wife, Liz, introduced me to a new level of fitness. At the time I was an avid outdoorsman; rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, and adventuring all over the place. My fitness consisted of routine lifting splits in a traditional gym setting (i.e. - Chest & Triceps, Back & Biceps, Legs & Core) and going to the climbing gym for bouldering sessions about four times a week. While my love for the outdoors has not diminished, the way I prepare for these adventures has. CrossFit has brought functionality to my training I never previously had and it ACTUALLY helps me to be the best version of myself. I am physically stronger with fewer aches and pains and my emotional and spiritual life is healthier and more stable.

As a coach, it is my hope to encourage each person I interact with to try something new and to see how capable they are. No matter a person's goal, I want to help them achieve it and pass along some knowledge I have obtained during my own pursuit of fitness.

I started in CrossFit over 12 years ago in Pensacola, Florida when a friend said hey, you should come try out this new type of workout with me! I was hooked from day one! I have been a member of five CF boxes all over the US since then. I got my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate in 2016 and started coaching while living in Whidbey Island, Washington.
My husband and I, along with our two kids, moved here to Colorado in 2018. I had been out of CrossFit for a year trying to recover from some lower back pain that flared up randomly. Fun fact: It took me a year of driving by the gym to work up my courage to come back after being out for so long. (So see, even coaches can get nervous!) In 2020 after working my way back and feeling like I was ready, I walked into The Simple Warrior and talked to Liz about getting started. Best decision ever because I found an amazing community here and they were the most supportive welcoming group of people that have become my friends.
Earlier this year in 2021 I decided to go and get my Level 2 certification. Coaching is what I love to do most and I am lucky I get to do it as a career! I am constantly learning more as a coach everyday and am honored to be a part of helping people in their fitness journey. As well as coaching I am also certified in TRX and Barre.

I broke my first bone as an adult doing a Tough Mudder while my husband was deployed. At the time we had a two year old son so I had to go live with my in-laws for a month while I healed enough to be able to be at home by myself.

Growing up, I was always involved in sports—it was just a normal part of my routine. I played softball, volleyball, track and then went on to play volleyball for 4 years while I was in college. I started CrossFit in 2017 because my best friend and volleyball teammate from college invited me to a class with her. We’d both finished our volleyball careers and we were looking for something that would challenge us as much as the workouts we did in college. She actually paid for my first month’s membership as a birthday gift because she knew I would love it! She was absolutely right and I am so thankful she asked me to join her! Since then, CrossFit has remained a huge part of my life—even while I spent two years overseas with my husband.
I have a deep passion for helping others and I’m currently working as a nurse in a few different settings. This passion has led me to coaching because I truly believe that fitness prevents all kinds of illness. I hope that, as a coach, I can help others to become more fit so that I can avoid seeing them in any kind of nursing capacity.
I enjoy coaching because I love helping people grow and accomplish things that they may have thought were impossible for them to do when they first started. I believe it is a true gift to get to coach at a gym that promotes such a positive community environment. The Simple Warrior is truly a family and the time I spend in the gym is pretty much always my favorite part of the day.

I can workout to just about any kind of music as long as it is loud enough so that people can't hear how hard I'm breathing.

After driving by The Simple Warrior gym, I decided to stop in and see what CrossFit was all about. I convinced my wife to give it a try with me, and after 2 years we are still very excited to workout every week. I have always been an active person, playing sports in high school and in rec leagues since then. I enjoy the outdoors and love spending time in the mountains hiking and backpacking. CrossFit has helped me excel in each of these settings. But, it is the community I really love and enjoy. The people I workout with have become my good friends and have pushed me to be my best self. The accountability, support, and friendship I get from the members at The Simple Warrior is why I am excited to show up every week.
I have a passion to come alongside people and encourage them in every aspect of life so becoming a coach was a no brainer for me. I love encouraging, supporting, and teaching others to become a better version of themselves, and there is no better place to start than with our physical fitness.

I was first introduced to CrossFit by our family friends. I saw that our friend posted that she climbed a 14er with her CrossFit community, and that is when I realized that CrossFit was not just about moving heavy weights in the gym, it was about having an active and healthy lifestyle. I have tried to workout multiple times in my life and have given up within months of starting. One month into my CrossFit journey, I knew having this community of members and dedicated coaches, were going to help me stick to it this time.
A year and a half later I decided to get my CrossFit level 1 certificate, because I believed wholeheartedly with the right coaching and community anyone could succeed, and I knew I could make the commitment to be that type of coach for each and everyone that walks through the door.

I’ve always loved sports and was an active athlete all throughout school. Summer breaks consisted of cross country practice in the mornings, basketball open gyms in the afternoon, and track workouts in the evenings! College and the years that followed were a hard stage of my life in terms of fitness. I didn’t know how to be an athlete without coaches and teammates to guide and motivate me. In 2021 I decided to check out the little CrossFit gym I routinely drove past, and man has it changed my life. In this sport (more specifically in this gym) I’ve found the fitness community and coaching I had been missing so much since high school.
The transition from “member” to “coach” was a natural one, as I’ve always loved teaching and mentoring others on the things I’m most passionate about. I find it so fulfilling to watch people learn new skills, reach new personal bests, and gain confidence in the gym. It’s an honor to be a part of our members’ fitness journeys.
I’m an Indiana native who moved to Colorado right out of college for a job. I work in the beef industry and love working with the ranchers and cattlemen that put food on our tables. My husband and I spend our time spoiling our two heelers, hiking, camping, and exploring all that the Rockies have to offer.
